How to recognise
Feed can account for more than 70% of a pig producer’s cost, so every feed related decision can have a significant impact on profit margins.
The nutritional value of feed ingredients can be highly variable and fluctuate from batch to batch. When not properly managed, these fluctuations are likely to impact sow performance and profitability.
Based on extensive research, Trouw Nutrition has developed Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR) calibration lines and nutritional databases to analyse and calculate the nutritional value of feed ingredients accurately, quickly and economically. - Rapid detection of anti-nutritional factors (ANF), that reduce the availability of one or more nutrients and can adversely affect animal health and performance.
- Controlling risks to feed safety. Minimising the numerous physical, chemical and especially microbiological threats including bacteria, mould, yeast and mycotoxin, requires an integrated approach, involving each part of the feed supply chain. Trouw Nutrition analyses more than 20,000 samples annually from crops around the globe for the presence of mycotoxin.
